Karl joined the HSFC to guide and support schools undergoing the School Food Authority application and on-boarding process. His role ensures that HSFC school partners achieve necessary policy and procedure changes for compliance with state and federal laws. Karl's prior experience as an occupational health and safety specialist in oil and gas prepared him to successfully transition into the food and education sector. Karl received an Associates Degree in Occupational Health and Safety from Waldof University. He is a Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (COSS) and a Licensed School Food Service Manager. Karl's positive outlook and passion to give back to the community brought him to the HSFC. He resides in New Orleans with his wife and daughter, and in his free time enjoys the food, culture and excitement of the city.
