The HSFC provides operations, management and consulting services to single and multi-site charter and private school child nutrition programs. We assist schools in becoming their own School Food Authority and relieve school operators of the administrative and regulatory burdens that are part of school food service management so that schools can focus on what they do best.
Managing your school food program budget is just as important as serving healthy meals to students. Schools team up with the HSFC to take advantage of our expertise in managing the Vendor RFP and proposal process. We understand that not all school food program facilities, staff, or budgets are the same and we help establish contracts that work. Our procurement process will also ensure open competition with a formal and informal bidding processes.
In order to participate in the National School Lunch Program, schools must apply to become a School Food Authority. Upon approval, SFAs are eligible to receive federal meal reimbursements. The HSFC will prepare your School Food Authority application, ensuring program requirements are followed and met, setting your food program up for long-term success.
The HSFC has developed best practices from our many years of experience managing and operating school child nutrition programs. We understand food service laws, regulations and compliance and are experts in creating financially sound and healthy school food programs.
