How We Provide Food Solutions for Businesses, Communities, Schools, and Much More!

Food is something we all need to survive. Unfortunately, not everyone has access to the food they need. This is especially the case with children, which is why many schools work hard to provide children with meals so they don’t have to go hungry. In addition to helping schools, Healthy School Food Collaborative (HSFC) works with businesses, communities, and more to ensure everyone has something to eat.

With that in mind, you may be wondering how we make our program work. After all, it’s not easy to provide hungry people all over the countrUNDERSTANDING WHAT WE DOy with food. The simple answer is that we don’t do it alone. We partner with a variety of organizations to complete our mission. Continue reading below to learn more about what we do and how we do it, and if you have any questions or you would like to find a way to get involved, don’t hesitate to reach out to our team!

Understanding What We Do

Before we can begin to explain our process for helping schools, communities, businesses, and more, we first need to take the time to help you understand what it is we do. The goal of our business is to provide schools, community organizations, and businesses with access to healthy, nutritious meals. When people think of providing food, they often think of helping people who simply can’t afford to buy groceries. While this is often the case, we can also help feed anyone who lives in an area that doesn’t have easy access to a physical store.

At HSFC, we work hard to not only provide people with healthy, nutritious food, but also offer education to help people make healthier decisions that can benefit them for years.

Providing Food to Schools

As sad as it may be, it’s not uncommon for a child’s lunch at school to be the only meal they get in a day. Luckily, there are programs in place that can help children get the food they need, and at HSFC, we are proud to help promote and establish these programs.

If you work for a school and you want to start providing a program that provides children with lunches and breakfasts, we can help! We work with schools that are willing to participate in programs such as the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). We work with you to help you become a School Food Authority and provide the resources and support needed to help your program thrive. If you have any questions about getting started, don’t hesitate to reach out to our team!

Procurement Services

Your school or community program may have the desire to participate in the NSLP or CACFP organizations, but it may not be as feasible as you would like it to be. Luckily, at HSFC, we have experience working with schools, businesses, and communities of all sizes. We understand that every budget is unique and that not everyone has the resources to get their program up and running on their own. For this reason, we offer procurement services where we help design a program to fit your budget, manage food vendors, coordinate and submit the required public media releases, establish a nutrition profile, and so much more! When you work with our team, you never have to work alone.

Program Management

Ending hunger is an important cause, and as much as we would like the process to be as simple as handing out food, it’s not quite that easy. For this reason, HSFC is proud to offer program management services. In addition to helping you establish your NSLP and CACFP programs, we can also help with the management side of things, including coordinating determination letters to households, general program support, monitoring and improving vendor performance, and so much more!

HSFC is proud to do everything we can to ensure children and adults aren’t left hungry. We are more than happy to work with schools, communities, businesses, and more to provide the support you need to start your program. If you have any questions or you would like to get started, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at HSFC today!
